Carberry Tower Mansion House & Estate is a historic castle wedding venue in East Lothian, Scotland, set within 40 acres of private grounds just 7 miles from Edinburgh. Established over 500 years ago, this romantic country estate combines centuries of history with elegant event spaces, making it one of the most sought-after wedding venues near Edinburgh for couples looking for an unforgettable setting. The Mansion House includes 30 beautifully furnished bedrooms. From Suites and Executive Bedrooms to Classic Bedrooms and Single Bedrooms, each room is richly appointed, with en-suite bathrooms and stunning views over the Estate and can accommodate up to 73 guests.

Further to the Mansion House bedrooms, further accommodation can be found in our five-star, luxury Estate Houses. These Estate Houses offer a wonderful addition to your wedding weekend, providing extra accommodation just moments from the Mansion House. We have four Estate Houses in total, each with four bedrooms and sleeping up to eight guests.

Perfect for families, bridal party members or guests staying for longer, these private houses give a relaxed, home-from home feel while still being part of the Carberry Tower experience. When booked as part of a wedding, a bed and breakfast rate can be offered. Alternatively, they can be booked as self-catering stays.

Nestled within the Estate grounds, our private Chapel provides a beautiful and light filled setting for your wedding ceremony. With floor to ceiling glass overlooking the picturesque walled garden, the space is bathed in natural light and feels calm, bright and welcoming. The simple and elegant interior allows you to style the room in a way that truly reflects you as a couple, whether that is soft and understated or filled with florals and personal touches.

Couples can also choose to exchange their vows outdoors, with some of our most popular locations being the South Lawn, beneath the shade of our magnificent Beech Tree or in the Walled Garden at the Chapel. Each provides a beautiful and memorable backdrop for your ceremony.

Our Champagne Terrace, a gift from the late Queen Mother, overlooks the South Lawns and is the perfect setting for your outdoor drinks reception. Celebrate with family and friends in style while enjoying the stunning views and fresh air.

Warm and inviting space for your drinks reception

For an indoor alternative, our First Floor Lounges, the Drawing Room and Library Lounge, offer a warm and inviting space for your drinks reception. Filled with comfortable seating and cosy corners, it is perfect for relaxed conversation while still enjoying stunning views over the gardens.

Elegant yet informal, the room provides a welcoming atmosphere for your guests to gather, sip and celebrate in style. No matter the Scottish weather or time of year, we have you covered, ensuring your celebrations can continue in style, come rain or shine.

The Banqueting Pavilion provides a stunning setting for your wedding feast. A sparkling fairy light backdrop creates a magical focus behind the top table, while bright chandeliers and sweeping views over the Estate gardens add elegance and charm. The room can be styled and decorated to bring your wedding vision to life, making every detail uniquely yours and perfectly set for your celebration.

Wedding Breakfast at Carberry Tower

For more intimate guest counts, the Elphinstone Room within the Mansion House can sit up to 50 guests for your wedding breakfast. The Elphinstone Room offers a beautifully intimate setting for a wedding breakfast, combining traditional mansion house elegance with charming original features.

The room is filled with natural daylight and enjoys picturesque views across the estate grounds. Its traditional décor reflects the character of the historic mansion, complemented by a striking high decorative ceiling and elegant chandeliers that create a warm and romantic atmosphere. The Elphinstone Room provides a refined yet intimate space, perfect for couples seeking a smaller wedding breakfast setting with the character and grandeur of a historic Scottish estate.

After your wedding feast, it’s time to keep the celebrations going and dance the night away. The Parterre Suite, which can accommodate up to 180 guests, provides a lively and welcoming space for your evening reception, perfectly situated within the heart of the Mansion House.

Filled with natural light from its large, elegant windows, the room offers stunning photo opportunities and a bright, airy atmosphere. Its generous size makes it perfect for larger bridal parties while still feeling comfortable and intimate, allowing everyone to relax, enjoy the moment and soak up the excitement before the ceremony.

The Beacon Room offers a stylish and relaxed space for the groom and his party to get ready. With a comfortable bar area and plenty of space to prepare, it provides a welcoming environment for both quiet moments and lively celebrations before the day begins.

This private suite ensures the groom’s party can enjoy their own special space while remaining part of the excitement of the wedding morning.
