Private Accommodation at Gilmerton House

Private stays at Gilmerton House offers 10 luxurious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, providing accommodation for up to 20 guests. As an exclusive wedding venue, full butler service and luxury breakfast is provided for overnight guests. The breakfasts, prepared in-house by our own chef, contain high quality locally, where possible, sourced produce.

In addition to the accommodation in the main house, Gilmerton Lodge, a 3-bedroomed detached period property just outside the main gates provides further 5-star accommodation for up to 6 guests. When hired as additional accommodation, the lodge guests can also enjoy breakfast in Gilmerton House.

Gilmerton House & Estate

The estate comprises 1000 acres of which 100 acres are woodlands and walks. The gardens and woodlands can accommodate a variety of outdoor activities, including highland games, croquet, quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, and archery and falconry experiences.

For corporate events, the house has a variety of elegant reception rooms which provide a spectacular setting if you are looking for corporate retreats in East Lothian or for other special occasion. The four public rooms can be easily adapted to accommodate conferences and meetings and complimentary WIFI is available throughout the house.

Dining and Banqueting

The Music Room, one of the finest rooms of its age, can accommodate 60 guests for dinner and 100 for a drinks reception or ceremony. Smaller receptions and ceremonies can be held in the downstairs Drawing Room which overlooks the beautiful terrace and gardens. Additionally, the Dining Room is ideal for more intimate dinners for up to 20 guests.

Larger events can be accommodated in a Marquee situated in the charming and picturesque Rose Garden.
