Pavilion Library at Pollok House

Wedding ceremonies at Pollok House are held in the Pavilion Library, probably the finest twentieth-century library in Scotland, containing over 7,000 books and manuscripts. The Steinway concert grand piano holds pride of place in the room and has been played by many a famous pianist over the years to entertain guests and welcome brides down the aisle.

Occupying the whole of the eastern pavilion, this versatile room is framed by Ionic columns and adorned by some of Pollok House’s most treasured paintings, including the famous El Greco masterpiece Lady in a Fur Wrap (c1577–9). From the Library, French doors open on to the wonderfully manicured Parterre Garden is ideal at Pollok for photographs, celebratory drinks and canapés or simply a relaxing stroll before being seated to dinner.
